1976: Creation of the WHOCC, connected to the INSERM unit 110 “psychiatric epidemiology” led by Dr Sadoun

1986: Closure of the unit 110, maintenance of the WHOCC as an INSERM ”floating structure”

1990: Dr Nicole Quemeda appointed director. Development of transversal studies, in the INSERM/DGS common interest program

1998: No official redesignation but automatic renewal

1999: Dr Jean-Luc Roelandt appointed director. Status strengthening, network development, promotion of the WHO policy regarding community psychiatry

2001: Redesignation of the Centre for 4 years. Increase of the projects, partnerships and diversification of the activities

2006: Redesignation of the Centre for 4 years. The WHOCC has been connected to the EPSM Lille metropole (Lille, France)

2010: Redesignation of the Centre for 4 years

2013: Labellisation INSERM UMR 1123 of the ECEV team. The WHOCC is part of the ECEV team.

2014: Redesignation of the Centre for 4 years 

2018: Redesignation of the Centre for 4 years
